What Qlub is

The global hub we never had.

Finding your people shouldn’t be this hard. For too long our community has been scattered — safe spaces hidden, resources spread thin, our people living in little pockets across cities and screens.

Think of Qlub as your queer compass. The bars and bookstores, the events and the groups, the landmarks and the safe spaces near you and across the world — all in one place, wherever you are.

And Qlub is a little different. It isn’t about swiping or hookups — there are already plenty of apps for that. Qlub is about everything else: the spaces, the resources, the knowledge and the support our community has always shared with each other.

Your spaces

Bars, bookstores, clinics, community centres and queer-owned businesses near you.

Your community

Events, groups and hangouts run by people in your city, not an algorithm.

Real resources

Health, travel, Pride and festival guides written to be useful, not to sell you something.

A way to give back

Every venue, event and Spot is here because someone added it, claimed it, or showed up for it.

Discover

Everything near. Everything queer.

Bars, events, groups and community spots near you — matched to your interests, sorted by distance, and always showing what’s happening soonest first.

  • Filter by category, search by name, save your favourites.
  • Switch between the list and the map without losing your place.
  • Open now, new to Qlub, and what’s on this week, each on its own rail.

The map

Your city, out and proud.

Every bar, event, group and community spot on one live map. Zoom in, tap a pin, head out.

  • Seven kinds of pin, each with its own colour — venues, events, groups, hangouts, Spots, services and nonprofits.
  • Search this area to look somewhere you’re not, before you travel.
  • Directions open in the map app you already use.

Community

Four ways to actually meet people.

Everything on Qlub is something you can turn up to. No feed to perform for, no leaderboard, no swiping.

Events

A planned, scheduled happening — a show, a party, a workshop, a meetup. Date, time, a place, sometimes tickets or limited capacity.

  • Tap once to RSVP Going or Interested.
  • See who else is coming and message everyone in one place.
  • Hosting? You get invitations, a guest list, and a share link that opens even for friends without the app.

Hangouts

Spontaneous and casual — a coffee, a beach day, a last-minute ticket going spare. Just a time, a meeting point, and how many people can join.

  • Post one when you want company right now.
  • Anyone nearby can join, and everyone gets the same chat.
  • The easiest way to turn “we should hang out sometime” into tonight.

Groups

A community you can join around a shared interest or scene — queer climbers, trans book club, sober social, new in town.

  • Open, approval-only, or invite-only.
  • Every group gets its own chat and its own events.
  • A members list that isn’t a leaderboard.

The community board

Short-lived posts — asks, offers, collabs, spaces and services. Posts expire after a few days, so the board is never a graveyard.

  • Looking for a room, a collaborator, a rideshare to Pride.
  • Offering a service, a spare ticket, a studio afternoon.
  • Message the poster directly from the post.

Places

The directory the community built.

More than 3,500 researched LGBTQ+ listings and 400+ community Spots across all 50 US states, DC and Canada.

Venues, services and nonprofits

Bars, clubs, clinics, bookshops, cafés, community centres and queer-owned businesses — with hours, accessibility, and whether a place is queer-owned, trans-inclusive or simply affirming.

  • Every entry is checked against a strict bar: queer-owned or genuinely community-centred, not just “everyone welcome”.
  • Support the places that support us.

Spots

A meaningful queer place on the map — a landmark, a memorial, a gayborhood, a beach. Some are curated by Qlub; you can add your own.

  • Save it, rate it, or check in when you’re there.
  • Check-ins fade after a few hours, and you can always stay hidden.

Qlub Hub

Your queer compass.

Pride, festivals, travel and health in one place — with your own calendar and reminders, so you never miss what’s next.

The Qlub Hub, with My Calendar at the top and tiles for Festivals, Health, Pride and Travel.

What’s inside the Hub

Pride & festivals

Pride dates, events and local resources kept current year-round rather than for two weeks in June — plus the queer festivals worth planning a trip around.

Travel

LGBTQ+ city guides for 50+ destinations: where to go, what’s worth your time, and the local laws and norms you should know before you land. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Berlin, Bangkok, Cape Town and dozens more.

Health

Plain-language guides to sexual health, gender-affirming care, mental health and insurance — plus crisis hotlines you can reach in two taps.

Daily digest

One clean daily read: LGBTQ+ news and community stories chosen by editors instead of served by an engagement algorithm. No doomscroll, no rage bait.

My calendar

Never miss your party.

Every RSVP, hangout and event you host, in one personal calendar with reminders.

  • Agenda or month view, filtered by what kind of thing it is.
  • What you’re hosting sits next to what you said yes to.
  • Add any of it to the calendar app you already use.

Create

Host it in a minute.

Add a hangout, an event, a group, a Spot, a trip, a board post, or a business — with photos, a place on the map and a link you can share anywhere.

  • Pick the spot on a map with real place search, not a coordinate box.
  • Friends can RSVP from the share link even without the app.
  • Everything you create lives under My Items, yours to edit or delete.

Messages

Plans in one place.

Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted. Every group, event and hangout gets its own chat, so the plan stays with the thing it’s about.

  • Message requests stay out of your inbox until you accept them.
  • Block or report from any profile, any time.
  • Mute a thread without leaving it.

Privacy & safety

Privacy that costs nothing.

Nobody should have to pay to stay hidden. Every one of these controls is free, for everyone.

You choose what’s visible

Set your profile to private, turn location sharing off, or hide your distance from other people — independently, at any time.

Moderation you can see

Photos and public text are screened automatically before they go live, and reports are reviewed by a person. Report any listing, event, post or profile from the page you’re already on.

No ads, nothing sold

No advertising, no selling your data, no paying to be seen. Qlub is free to use — the whole map, every event, every group, every guide.

Light or dark

The night is ours.

Qlub follows your phone, or holds whichever look you prefer — as out as you want it.

Rollout

Starting in Los Angeles.

The directory, travel, Pride and health sections work everywhere in the US and Canada from day one. The community side — events, groups and hangouts — opens city by city, starting with Los Angeles, so that when a city goes live it already has something in it instead of an empty map.

For venues

Your place is probably already here.

Qlub lists thousands of LGBTQ+ venues across the US and Canada. Claim yours to fix the details, add photos and post your events. Claiming and managing a listing is free — there is no paid tier, no trial, and no card required.

Questions

Before you ask.

Is Qlub free?

Yes. The whole map, every event, group and guide, and every privacy control. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

Do I need an account to look around?

No. You can browse the map, the directory and the guides without signing up. You only need an account to RSVP, join a group, message someone or post something yourself.

What’s the difference between an event and a hangout?

An event is planned — a date, a time, a venue, sometimes tickets. A hangout is spontaneous — a time, a meeting point and a headcount, usually today.

Is Qlub a dating app?

No. There are plenty of those. Qlub is for the rest of it: the places, the events, the groups and the resources our community shares with each other.

How old do I have to be?

Qlub is 18+. You’re asked to confirm your age before you can browse.

I own an LGBTQ+ venue. How do I claim it?

Search for your place in the app and tap Claim, or use the business portal on a desktop. You can verify instantly with an email address at your venue’s domain, or by uploading ID for review. It’s free.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: open the account menu, tap Delete account, and confirm. If you no longer have the app installed, the delete-account page explains how to request it by email.

Which cities are live?

The directory, travel, Pride and health content covers the US and Canada now. Events, groups and hangouts are opening city by city, starting with Los Angeles.
